The one with all the pink hearts

I completely failed to blog about Valentine's this year. We don't do anything extraordinary, but it is something I like to document. And the kids enjoy this little holiday, as do I! I remember my Mom and Dad always made the day extra special. We started off with a yummy breakfast consisting of chocolate covered strawberry waffles (basically, strawberry cake mix mixed with chocolate chips, then drizzled with melted chocolate and sliced strawberries), and of course pink milk. The kids also opened their Valentine's from us (a couple DVD's, candy, coloring books, etc). For lunch we had the token heart shaped PB & J, and for dinner, we tried a new tradition of cheesy fondue and cookies and cream chocolate fondue for dessert. Yummo!! It was a fun day to celebrate our love for each other and to enjoy some goodies. :)

Fun heart hair for the day :)

I nibbled on these chunky thighs all day, instead of chocolate!

Those cheeks took a few nibbles too. How can I resist?!
Dinner. The kids thought it was so fun to dip their food in the cheese!

I painted hearts on our plates with a little food coloring mixed with powdered sugar and water.

The one with the new chompers

Savannah is 8 months old! I can't imagine life without our sweet little miss. She is truly such a blessing to our family, and I thank God every day for sending her to our family. At 8 months, Savannah has definitely found her appetite. She LOVES food! Much like her mama I suppose. This girl can pack it in I'm tellin' ya. She eats way more than Brooklyn and Troy ever did at this age. A typical day consists with her nursing in the morning (usually about 6), then going back to sleep for another hour and a half (bless her!!). Then she will have breakfast, a couple handfuls of puffs (my size hand, not hers!), a 2nd foods container of fruit, and 3.5 oz of whole yogurt. All that eating is really exhausting and she is ready for a nap around 9:30. She sleeps for a couple hours, wakes up, nurses, plays for a bit, then is ready for lunch. Lunch consists of a few puffs, and another 2nd food size fruit or veggie. Occasionally she'll still act hungry, so I'll give her some more yogurt. Again, eating is exhausting, and after lunch she's ready for her second nap of the day, around 1:30 or 2. She sleeps for another 1 1/2-2 hours. At 5 she is ready for dinner; more puffs, 2nd food vegetables/meat, and occasionally some more fruit. Then she is down for the count by 6, but not until she nurses some more of course! I tell ya, this baby is the angel of all babies. She makes my job so easy! At 8 months, Savannah now has 3 bottom teeth poking through, with the 4th just about there. Her two top teeth are also looking close to coming in. We are working on her cognitive learning and she knows all the sounds of the letters (haha totally joking! I'm SO not that kind of mom) But she does say "da da da da," "ma ma ma ma," "ya ya ya ya," and "gah gah gah gah." And if I do say so myself, she is dang cute when she talks! She can clap her hands, LOVES to dance, and loves playing "peek-a-boo," and "patty-cake." Her two favorite people in the world are probably Brooklyn and Troy. She still is content to just sit and play, and shows no interest in crawling, but definitely loves to stand, assisted of course, and loves her jumperoo. We certainly are not pushing the crawling, I am loving this easy stage! We love our blue-eyed angel baby!!!

We recently had a photo-shoot done of Savannah and all her chubby cuteness (by elbyphotography.com). You can see the pictures here: Savannah's 8 month photos

The one with the spout

I put Savannah's hair into her first "spout." It was kind of a stretch, but still dang cute! Her hair is almost ready for pony's every day. I'm sure she can't wait! I know I can't. :)

And just for kicks, a few random cute pics I took of the kids.

Our happy baby. It is very rare for her not to have a smile on her face.

"I will get you book..."

"Ha! Gotcha!!"
On another note, Savannah is still very content just sitting (she'll be 8 months on the 19th!). She seems to have no interest in crawling, which is just fine by me!!

The one with all the sunshine

We have had quite a few nice warm days full of sunshine lately, and we have been trying to take full advantage! We headed to the park a lot (sometimes multiple times in one day between naps), trying to suck in every last bit of sunshine.

Savannah in her sun hat. Ok, it really wasn't THAT warm out, but I got all excited about the sun! lol We did get into the low 60's though. Heaven!!

It was a happy day when Brooklyn learned how to pump on the swing all by herself. :) Happy for all of us!! She can swing and swing and swing all day long now.

Troy giving me a cool pose.

Another cool pose, on the rocks.

Showing me his "guns"
And showing me how fast he can run. This kid has a complex I tell ya.Always trying to show how strong and fast he is. lol

Fun times!!

The one with the dancing

Virtually every night before dinner, I turn on a little cartoon for Brooklyn and Troy so they can mellow out a bit and give me time to put dinner together. But before I start with dinner, I blast some music and Savannah and I dance cheek to chubby, little cheek. All while she fiercely grips my hand. She is definitely one of my favorite dancing partners right now. And she gets a kick out of it every night, and seems to think I am the funniest person alive. Love her! Love these moments. Have you all noticed a nostalgia theme lately? Me too. Not sure why. I just love my life!!

On another note, the other day I busted out the camera to take a few "real" life pics. Troy wanted to pose with his Batman car. I mean, can you blame him?! lol

My beautiful brown-eyed girl.

And my goofy girl showing me her nostrils. ha!
Goal: Get my camera out more often! Not just for big events, but for everyday life. I want to remember these little moments that make up my life.

The one with the talk

Lately the kids have been saying the funniest things. Here is a sampling of the most funny conversations lately:

Brooklyn (4 1/2) and Troy (3 1/2):
Brooklyn-"Troy, look in my eyes. Now, I'm going to kindergarten next year, and you're really going to miss me. In fact, all our family is going to miss me. Mom and Savannah will miss me, and even Daddy will miss me. So you need to be nice to me, because you're going to miss me when I'm in kindergarten."

Troy-"Well, I'm not going to miss you. But Savannah will miss you. Actually, I guess I'll miss you."

And today as Troy was sitting on the toilet:
Me-"Troy, are you done?"

Troy-"I don't think so. Please go, you don't want to see this."

What a fantastic job I have! How lucky am I to get to stay home with these rascals?!

The one with the chairs

Brooklyn and I had the following conversation yesterday:

Me-"Brooklyn, please stop doing that."
Brooklyn-"But Mom!! I HAVE to walk on the chairs, it's my DESTINY!!"

Oh heaven help me when this girl is a teenager!!!
