Pumpkin carving

Brooklyn and I carved pumpkins this week, and it was a hit! Brooklyn really enjoyed playing in the pumpkin guts. And if I do say so myself, I have MAD SKILLS when it comes to pumpkin carving.!! But I'll spare you the envy and won't post any pictures of the finished pumpkins. Oh, and here's just a random cute picture of Troy in his PURPLE bumpo. Poor guy, all of his hand-me-downs from Brooklyn are girlie. Also, Brooklyn is NOT supposed to have her pacifier, but Erik (Daddy) thinks she needs to be spoiled. It's time to hide those. Anyway, the picture was taken before church. Actually it was during church. I went to YW's while Brooklyn finished her nap. Hence her hair not in pig-tails yet.

We had playgroup today as well, and all the kids wore their Halloween costumes or shirts. I wish I would have brought my camera, but here's a picture she sent me. My friend Mandy hosted and had such fun things for the kids! She read a story about a pumpkin, had the kids "pin the face on the pumpkin" and even had little treat cups for them! Brooklyn had a blast. Thanks again Mandy!

Our Little Broncos

Another week, another BSU game, and Brooklyn is always excited to show her colors. As she was sporting her Blue and Orange apparel we heard her say...San Jose What? Apparently she wasn't nervous about their defense! Neither was her dad. I guess Troy Oliver wasn't too impressed by San Jose State either, but he chose to express his feelings through inappropriate hand gestures. Naughty Boy.

In case you are wonder...that's right...she is wearing an Ian Johnson crocheted beanie...courtesy of "Uncle" Troy. It was made for baby Troy Oliver, but Brooklyn is sporting it until his head is big enough...which may only be a week or two away. That Boy is a tank already, which will come in handy if he is going to be the starting center and long snapper for THE Boise State Broncos.

Filled to the brim

What a day! We started out at the pumpkin patch where Brooklyn found her new found love...pumpkins. She said hi to almost every single one we passed (and believe me, there were a LOT of pumpkins!) and she gave lots of loves to her favorite ghourds. Brooklyn seemed to thoroughly enjoy falling in the mud knowing that her parents (especially her mommy) cringes anytime she touches anything remotely dirty. She even had her first taste of the stuff! Yumm! She laughed, she cried, it was a fun time had by all. Troy hid under cover in the sling the whole time.

After naps, we headed over to our ward Halloween party. Great food, great friends, AMAZING decorations...you get the picture. Brookyn had a ball. And of course both she and Troy were a hit in their Halloween costumes. Brooklyn was a duck, Troy was a skunk, and mommy was a farmer. Daddy was a dead-beat (he didn't want to dress up, slacker). Brooklyn didn't really understand the concept of "Trick-or-treating," and tried to give back her candy a lot, but she had a blast!

"Look Mom, a dirt clod!" "Yuck!"

Candy, candy, candy!Brooklyn already in a chocolate comatose. See the remnants all over her face?

15 months & 2 months!!

Troy at 2 months.

Brooklyn at 2 months. I can't believe how strong she was!
Brooklyn had her 15 month wellness check up last week, and Troy had his 2 month check-up today. Both are doing great and are very healthy! Here are the stats:

Brooklyn at 15 months: 21 lbs 8 oz (25th percentile, up from the 5th! Yea!), 30.25 in. (25th percentile)

Troy at 2 months: 13 lbs 8 oz (75th percentile), 24 in. (75th percentile)
And for old time's sake...Brooklyn at 2 months: 12 lbs 2 oz, 23 in long

Brooklyn rolled over for the first time the day she turned 2 months, but no pressure Troy! We love our 2 adorable kiddos and feel so blessed to be their parents. You all know the old cliche, "Time goes by so fast!" Well, I never knew how fast it flew by until I had kids. They grow up so fast and before you know it they're throwing "beautiful" little tantrums. Just yesterday I had my first incident of having to FORCE Brooklyn back into the stroller and I literally had to hold her down with my leg in order to get the straps fastened. I was totally laughing and I'm sure to anyone who saw me, probably thought I was enjoying "torturing" my sweet little child. Good times! On another note, Brooklyn still LOVES being a big sister. Troy loves Brooklyn too and often gives her sweet smiles. But most of the time, he just looks like this..."Save me Mom!"

Happy 30th Erik!

Erik celebrated his 30th birthday last Thursday, the 9th. His best friends, Evan and Troy, came out for the weekend and they had a fun time acting like bachelors again. They were even able to watch the BSU game together Saturday night! Erik was thrilled since he doesn't get to watch the games on TV much anymore, let alone with friends who are BSU fans. Brooklyn LOVED having her "uncle's" around. She couldn't get enough of them! She definitely isn't shy. Baby Troy liked them too, but he's pretty easy to please right now obviously. : ) While the boys were out, Brooklyn, Baby Troy and I had fun cooking yummy food and enjoying the beautiful fall weather. I was in my element acting as hostess. Thanks again for coming guys! It was so fun to see you!

Alkai Beach

We went to Alkai for FHE this past week with our good friends the Rigtrups to take pictures. We had a fun time posing and goofing off. Brooklyn was in heaven. And the view of the Seattle skyline couldn't have been better. I have tons more pictures, but for some reason they aren't showing up. Hmmm... This is Ella posing with Brooklyn. She's "famous," so I HAD to post a picture of her. (She thinks she's famous because of the song that has her name in it...Ella, Ella). :) Isn't she a cutie? Brooklyn LOVES her!
