Giggles, squeels, and coos

Our little Savannah is 4 months old! She is still such a sweet, calm little thing, but has definitely found her voice! She LOVES to squeal and scream, and we are just glad she seems to have a voice-box after all! We would definitely take these little screams of delight over crying any day. Lately she has really been enjoying her hands, and pretty much anything else she can get in her mouth. Her bottom tooth that was poking up, seems to have receded, but is now starting to protrude yet again, we're thinking to stay this time. Savannah is still sleeping through the night, about 6:30-6, then back to sleep until about 8:30. We're hoping it stays this way!! I honestly can't say enough how easy she is. She sleeps through the night, doesn't spit up, doesn't cry, and is, for the most part, always happy! She thoroughly enjoys watching her big brother and sister run around her while she sits happily in the jumperoo. Her most ticklish body parts are her little hips, especially when you scrunch her legs up. At her well-check the other day, the Dr. was checking her hips and scrunching up her legs and could not stop giggling! Of course Dr. Schrier thought that was hilarious. The possibly not so funny thing is she has to get an x-ray of her hips, because they may be dis-located. I guess it's common with breech girls, which Savannah wasn't breech, but it still happens in other cases. So it's mainly a precaution we are taking to get her checked out. If they are dis-located, she will just need to wear a brace around her hips that keeps her knees scrunched up for a month or two. Anyway...Savannah also decided to bring her 4 month birthday in with a bang...RSV. A very mild case of RSV however, thank heavens!! My other two kids NEVER got sick as infants, but I guess that's what happens when you have older siblings catching germs and bringing them home! I'm sure this is the first of many illnesses she will catch from them. Dirty little buggers. Just kidding of course. Kind of. :) Anyway, happy 4 months Savannah!!

Her 4 month stats:
Weight: 14 lbs 3 oz (50%)
Length: 25 1/2 in (90%!!!) She is our LONG baby!!
Head circ.: 40 1/2 cm (25%) They're pretty sure someone goofed when they measured her head at her 2 month appointment because it didn't grow much.

"Hi, my name is Chubby." Troy loves doing "Chubby" to her. Poor Savannah.

She is a drooling fool lately!

The "helicopter brother." Always hovering :) Also, notice the newly finished chairs!!...finally!

Our happy little princess. She's our blue-eyed girl!

Kittens, trains, and pony's

We ventured out to a local little pumpkin farm the other Saturday with the kids. It was a beautiful, sunny, fall day, and just perfect for pumpkin picking...but there wasn't a pumpkin patch at the "pumpkin patch." Ironic, no? BUT they did have pony's and a little train to ride, and kittens, and bunnies, and chickens, and PIGS WITH LITTLE PIGLETS!!! Sooooo cute! The kids were in H-E-A-V-E-N. Oh, and a super fun rope swing in the hay. So even though we stood in line for about 45 minutes waiting for a pony ride, it was well worth it. Nothing beats an outing with the whole fam-damly.

Look at that little piglet!! So cute. They all were trying their best to be little escape artists.

She was so excited to ride, but was trying to be cool and not "show" her excitement apparantely.

If you look behind Troy, you can see the proud Daddy and poor sleeping Savannah. Her feet were so cold! She didn't seem to mind though. Poor thing.

Yup, that helmet saves lives folks.

Big sister

Brooklyn absolutely ADORES her baby sister. She is like a second mother to her! I know they are going to be the best of friends.

And then there's Troy. lol Check out that scowl!

Are we to that age already?!

This weekend, Brooklyn went on her first "late-over." (kids aren't really doing sleep-overs anymore, but they do late-overs where the kids stay late. So fun! And I'm pretty sure my parents would have MUCH preferred late-overs to sleep-overs where it seems no one sleeps anyway!)Anyway,  after I got off the phone with her friends mom (Toni), I had to stop and think, "Wow, is she really already old enough for "late-overs"?! It blows my mind how mature and grown up Brooklyn is. So I dropped her off and sent her on her way to "hang" with her friends! She had such a blast, and we are looking forward to having her own late-over at our house!!

All set and ready to go with her pillow, sleeping bag, and jammies!

Fingerprints

Dear Troy,
This week you have been really challenging. I have lost my patience with you many, many, many times unfortunately. I definitely haven't won any "mother of the year" awards this week. And just when I think I can't take it anymore, you give me a moment of the sweet, gentle little guy who I know you are! While we were driving today, I looked back, and Savannah was gripping your chubby little hand with all her might. It is second nature to you to take care of her. She loves you and I can tell you love her so much!! You are such a sweet, loving, and (most of the time), gentle big brother. You offer comfort when she needs it most, and Mommy is so thankful for you and your sweet spirit!! I will try and remember this moment in the upcoming days and weeks.

Love,
Mommy

Perfect 10!

Brooklyn started gymnastics and could not be more thrilled!! I have always seen a natural gymnast quality in her, so I was excited to finally get her started as well. And I must say, she is doing phenomonal! While doing cartwheels, Brooklyn kept doing front hand-springs! Her coach was really impressed. And on the somersault mat, she was doing front flips and diving forward rolls instead. Yup, Aunt Megan would be proud!! (Aunt Megan was a collegiate gymnast, and yes, I'm her sister, and yes, I'm bragging lol)

Flashing her gang sign?

Worth it!

Last night, I went in to check on sleeping Savannah before I headed to bed. I can never resist kissing those sweet, chubby little cheeks. I just had to get a picture of her sleeping so peacefully, but of course she woke up from the noise of the camera (and possibly because I turned the light on lol). So I "had" to pick her up and rock her back to sleep. Totally worth it!I love those moments when I'm not in a rush and don't have anything else to do, so I am able to just cherish my sweet time with her. Often while I'm rocking her during the day I get frustrated because she is fighting sleep and my other kids are fighting each other! lol I am so glad I get to enjoy a few quiet, uninterrupted moments with Savannah. She's a keeper!

I love this picture. It looks like she's thinking, "Why in the heck are you waking me up?! I'm tired dang it!"
