2nd attempt and paint!

We made it to the Children's museum again this past Saturday, and it was actually open! Yea!! The kids had a blast. Brooklyn's favorite part was definitely the "grocery shopping," while Troy REALLY enjoyed driving the "fire-truck" and "bus." We can't wait to go back! Brooklyn has been asking every day since if she can go grocery shopping again.

Troy's cart: ice-cream and bread! My kind of man.
"Checking out"
Hard at work in the "construction" zone.
And finally some pictures of our new paint in the living room. Erik took these last night, so there's some clutter I'd rather not every one see, but I guess it's real right? :) Oh and you can finally see the finished window too. Now we just need to paint the door and trim around it. I'm still working on the whole decorating part in the living room as well. It's a gradual process.Don't worry, we have a vent for that huge hole. We're getting our ducts cleaned today, so we'll put it back up when they're finished. Oh and that huge monstrosity of a cabinet? It's looking for a coat of paint as well. Eventually...

Wow, Troy looks exactly like Erik. The paint looks awesome. I think I would look at those colors at the store and they would just frighten me, but they work really well. Really any kind of decorating frightens me so I leave it to Clarissa, but sometimes she's even crippled by my veto. Your house looks great!

what color did you use on the accent wall with the television??? I think it would look great in my master bedroom. What is the other color, too? Looks great!

also, that cabinet looks a little glossy, be sure to use a good deglosser before you paint it. Check that it isn't veneered wood (which is typical for large cabinets)...if so, unfortunately, you won't be able to paint it...but you could just take off the doors, and reuse the hardware to put some solid wood (or MDF) doors on the front. The guys at Lowe's will cut it for free for you. Then, you could add some cute trim or something, too if you wanted.

Your house is so cute! Makes me want to redecorate...or at least finish what I have started!

Thanks Meg! I actually have seen someone paint the same cabinet and it turned out great. They just sanded it down a little bit, primed, and painted.

The accent wall is Van buren brown from the Benjamin Moore collection. The other color is Kingsport Gray, also ben moore, but I got the paint at Sherwin Williams in satin/eggshell finish.

I love the paint and decorations! It's always so much work but from the looks of how yours turned out it looks worth it! Brooklyn's hair suddenly looks so long, it reminds me of your beautiful locks :)
